2025 VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Tax Site Volunteers with Tempe Community Council
Come help the Tempe Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site for the 2025 tax filing season. Vita is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) directed Program. Tempe Community Council hosts a Tempe site where any income eligible taxpayer can have their tax returns prepared and filed for free.
This is a vital service for the community that helps save taxpayers many dollars that would be spent paying for a tax filing service.
Volunteer responsibilities include the following:
- Greeter/Screener (greet and do intake with the client to ensure that they have all of the documents needed and are prepared to meet with a tax preparer)
- Tax Preparer (prepare basic 1040 tax forms and answer tax related questions)
- Quality Reviewer (review all tax forms checking that they are complete and correct prior to signature and submission)
All volunteers are required to complete appropriate IRS training.
The site is open 3 days per week which include 2 weekdays from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am -2:00 pm. The tax site will be open from mid-January through mid-April.
