Community Hygiene Kit Build with Valley of the Sun United Way

Come join VSUW to assemble Hygiene Kits for individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. Many are experiencing homelessness for the first time possibly due to a job loss, home foreclosure, medical bills, or a variety of other circumstances. Other individuals have been homeless for a year or more, or multiple periods (chronic), and have a disability.

These kits provide essential personal care items to local individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity to help ensure their overall well-being.

Taking Steps Towards College Success Summit - Be A Leader

Join Be A Leader as volunteers for this year's event on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Taking Steps is one of Arizona's largest free college access events, bringing together approximately 1,800 high school seniors for a day of college planning, financial aid guidance, scholarship resources, career exploration, and postsecondary preparation. For many students, this is their first opportunity to connect directly with colleges, universities, and community organizations committed to helping them achieve their goals after high school.

Volunteer teams are an essential part of making the day a success. By welcoming students, helping them navigate the event, supporting workshops, and assisting with event logistics, volunteers help create an organized, engaging, and encouraging experience for every student who attends.

Volunteer opportunities include:

· Student check-in and welcome

· Wayfinding and event navigation

· Resource fair support

· Workshop assistance

· General event logistics and student engagement

The volunteer shift is approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and no prior experience is necessary. Our team provides all training and day-of instructions/supervision.

Location: Phoenix Convention Center 100 N Third St. Phoenix, AZ 85004
