Maricopa County Veteran's StandDown
Volunteer to support 2023 Maricopa County StandDown. This event allows veterans and their families who are experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness to get and stay connected to supportive services. Services include: health screenings, clothing donations, benefits assistance, ID replacement, legal assistance, pet care, and more.
Volunteers are needed to assist with event setup, guest check-in, event support, guest support, and event breakdown. The Human Services Campus and Valley of the Sun United Way are teaming up to recruit volunteers to help make this an impactful experience for our veterans! This event is indoor/outdoor. Volunteers must be 18+ to sign up.
Shifts available (subject to change)
April 27th, 10:00am-2:00pm - Setup. Assist with setting up event infrastructure including tents, tables, signs, chairs. This shift occurs the day prior to the event.
April 28th, 6:30am-10:30am - AM Shift. Assist with final preparations, guest check-in, and beginning hours of the event. Ideal for returning volunteers who are experienced with STAND DOWN.
April 28th, 9:00am-1:00pm - MID Shift.
April 28th, 12:00pm-4:00pm - PM Shift.
April 28th, 3:00pm-5:00pm - Breakdown Shift.
April 28th, 8:00am-4:00pm - FULL DAY Shift.
